Spectacular 17th-century granite mortar 17″ x 13¾”
A weighty granite mortar from the seventeenth century (possibly earlier – likely Gothic). Originally used in a pharmacy. A drainage hole was created in the base at some point. This could make a fabulous rustic hand basin.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
