Just stunning, mid 19th Century mid Victorian 14K Gold, Pearl, Hardstone Cameo Brooch and Earring Set dating to circa: 1860. The large oval Black & White Hardstone Cameo Brooch is set in very pretty 14K Gold Frame with textured detailed, textures overlays and double pearl accents set in diamond shaped bezel mountings along the sides of the frame. The Cameos are beautifully carved from one stone. The Victorian Cameo Brooch has an exquisite carved profile of a Romanesque women with elaborate curled and textures hair that compliments her smooth skin. The carving has exceptional detail and transparencies within her hair and background that include a musical instrument Lyre. In her hair is an Ivy or grapevine with flowers. Her hair coils begin to blend beautifully into the black background. The Victorian Black & White carved Cameo Brooch measures approximately 1 5/8 inches high x 1 1/4 inches wide and has heft. The pair of long matching antique Victorian Cameo Earrings each depict detailed Romanesque profiles. The Earrings have their original French wire backs that open in a hinge. One opens wider then the other and one has a tighter end hook. Both function beautifully and can be worn safely. They are semi tear drop shaped and are set in textured gold mountings with pearl accents like that of the Brooch. They have three Pearls at the top and the Cameo is carved to compliment and extend that detail. The mountings are 14K Yellow gold and were assayed to confirm their carat. The pin on the reverse of the Brooch is not gold. The Earrings measure approximately 1 3/8 inches long x 1/2 inch at their widest point. The black stone is shiny when lit. The photos were taken with and without a camera flash to best show off the carvings and the design. Even prettier in person. The Set is in exceptional condition and is in near mint condition. Very minimal wear. The antique Black & White Cameo Set had been well cared for.      (5F92)
